When you install Rank My Shop, we access certain data from your Shopify store to provide our service, including:

We collect the information provided through Shopify's OAuth process, including your store's domain name and the access tokens required to interact with your store's data.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Generate blog posts tailored to your store's niche and products
- Translate content into your store's enabled languages
- Schedule and publish blog posts to your Shopify store
- Create internal product links within blog content
- Generate and upload images for blog posts
- Track usage for billing purposes
AI Content Generation
We use Google Gemini AI to generate blog content, translations, and images. Your store data (such as product names, niche, and target audience preferences) is sent to Google's AI services to create personalized content. Google's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We share data only with:
- Google Cloud / Firebase — for data storage and cloud functions
- Google Gemini API — for AI content generation and translation
- Shopify — to publish content and manage your subscription
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as you have the app installed. When you uninstall Rank My Shop, we delete your store data within 30 days in accordance with Shopify's requirements.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your store
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Uninstall the app at any time, which triggers data deletion
GDPR Compliance
We comply with Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks for customer data requests, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation.
